What Is DPI?
DPI is the baseline of a player’s sensitivity that controls how you navigate your computer in general and affects your in-game sensitivity. The acronym stands for Dots Per Inch, which means how far your mouse moves on the screen, in pixels, per inch you move your mouse.
Naturally, some may think you would have slightly more control over a high DPI mouse setting because there are more pixels than you’re splitting up and working with and making up precise edits in a design program. A high DPI will be beneficial if players are already used to it because it can make minor adjustments. However, practicing those small adjustments may include tailoring your windows sensitivity.
High DPI is also great for high-resolution displays where a low DPI would take a while to get to the screen’s outer edges. However, for first-person shooter purposes, “low DPI has been preferred” for professionals in Valorant.
Most Used DPI in the Professional Scene
Here is the current ranking in 2021 for professional players:
400 DPI at 53% users.
800 DPI at 37% users.
Every other DPI fall under the “other” category at 10%
DPI higher than 800 may result in an almost unnoticeable, more fluid movement. However, you don’t necessarily want superfluid movement. Instead, the player’s aim should tend to be snappy when you’re at 400 DPI, noticeably being much easier to stay at the exact headshot level, which is rarely changing, rather than using a higher DPI because player’s crosshairs can feel somewhat locked in that plane of motion.
Therefore 400 and 800 DPI can be a coin toss but ultimately comes down to personal preference. DPI is only half of the equation. Valorant has a built-in sensitivity that needs to be calculated and taken into consideration.
Valorant eDPI & In-Game Sensitivity
EDPI stands for “effective dots per inch”, and that determines how far your cursor moves in the game relative to how far you move your mouse on the desk. To find eDPI, you must multiply your in-game sensitivity by your DPI.
Here are some professional Valorant players standard DPI, Valorant sensitivity, and eDPI, sourced from ProSettings.net:

Pro eDPI Ranges
A ton of people discuss high sensitivity and low sensitivity gamers. However, if you are coming from a different game-high and low sensitivity can mean other things. For example, if you are coming from League of Legends, the meta is highly sensitive in-game. An extremely low eDPI for League of Legends would be too high for Valorant.
Furthermore, in the game CSGO, the eDPI meta is much lower, and even a high sensitivity player in CSGO would be around the middle on Valorant’s scale.
Out of 215 current Valorant professionals, 14 are above 400 eDPI, meaning somewhere around the high sensitivity. For low sensitivity, there are only three current Valorant professionals that are below the 150 eDPI thresholds, representing from the 200 to 150 eDPI range being low sensitivity players.
Many players play in the 200 to 250 eDPI range, which is the most populated range for professional players. It can be a consistent middle ground for players eDPI to hit headshots with a low sensibility. Of course, still being able to whip your mouse around, have fluid movement, and swap between angles easily, similar to a high sensitivity player would.
Therefore, to keep in mind, the primary range is 150 to 400 eDPI which is essentially the accepted range for professional players. However, the eDPI for most people is 278 for Valorant professionals, which is almost 47 centimeters to do a complete 360, or about 18 inches.
ADS Sensitivity
Using a Vandal and tap firing from range or using the specter at any time, the aim down sight mechanic will be helpful to use. The average scoped sensitivity setting for Valorant is .97, but that does not mean it is the most common sensitivity.
The data for professionals was nearly non-existent to use that specific number. Instead, an overwhelming 81% of professionals in Valorant use a one scoped sensitivity multiplier. Consequently, to keep their aim consistent no matter whether you aim down sites or not.
However, when players aim down sights, the Field of View effectively changes a little bit, which would make your crosshair seem slightly faster. The change that professionals use to prevent it is a .9 aiming down sights sensitivity.
As a result, that is where the .97 comes from—the average players around .9, and the majority players at one.
Conclusion
These are the best mouse sensitivity from professional players in Valorant. However, these statistics, suggestions, and observations will ultimately be ruled by personal preference. The professionals have used a diverse range of options, ranging from high, average, and low sensitivity. All data for this piece was sourced from ProSettings.net.
