This debut title from the indie developer DeadDevsTellNoLies puts players in the shoes of a business owner who must build their supermarket from the ground up. On paper, the game sounds pretty fun and relaxing, but things can quickly turn south if players don’t manage their virtual store properly.

7 Mark Up The Prices

Selling Products For Higher Prices Can Lead To Huge Profits

Making profits is one of the main priorities when running a store in Supermarket Together. Players buy products in bulk, stock their shelves with them, and use the Barcode Scanner to set the prices. The game is pretty lenient with how high one can mark up the price, so players should be sure to take advantage of it.

For example, Salt usually costs $0.45 per unit when bought, but players can easily sell it for double the amount, making a huge profit per unit sold. However, when selling expensive products like Honey Cereals, it's safer to mark them up by 40-50%. Otherwise, many customers will complain about the price and won't buy them.

6 Round Up Product Prices

Makes It Easier To Give Change To Customers

When players start their store, they won't have the ability to hire an employee right off the bat. That means that they will be stuck tending to the customers at the Checkout desk. Rounding up the prices will make it easier for them to return the change during checkout. Instead of setting the price of a product to $2.99, players should go for $3.00.

While the game won't force players to do the math, rounding up the product price will certainly help when returning change to the customer in Supermarket Together.

5 Don't Unlock Too Many Products Early

So, during the early stage, it's best not to unlock a new product line unless players have the manpower needed to handle the supply line.

It's easy to underestimate how quickly the player's product will sell out once they hit that Supermarket Opened button. The key to success in Supermarket Together is to always keep restocking the shelves once the product is about to run out. Letting a shelf go empty is one of the biggest mistakes players can make in the game.

More products on one's shelves means that more customers will come in to buy them. Keeping spare products in the Storage Room is a good idea since players can restock quickly if a Product Shelf is about to run out. But even if gamers don't have any backup in their Storage Room, they can quickly run to the manager's room and order a new batch. Since the new batch arrives instantly outside the store, it's possible to run out, grab the box, and restock the shelves before customers get a chance to complain.

3 Unlock Employee 1 Perk

Unlocking the Employer 1 perk from the Franchise Points board will let players hire an employee for their supermarket. Decorations don't really impact gameplay in Supermarket Together. The customers will keep coming in even if players don't put up any decorations. However, players should still set up a couple of lights around the store for their own benefit.

As time progresses in the game, the store can get pretty dark. Players will be able to handle the checkouts faster with a couple of lights around the store. It also makes it easier to catch thieves.

1 Don't Expand Too Early

Expanding Will Increase The Player's Overhead Cost

When players are through the Supermarket Together's early stages, they'll soon arrive at a point where their store just won't have enough space for all the products to resell. This is when players will want to expand the supermarket using the Buy Shop Space or Buy Storage Space option. This can be found in the manager's room beside the Franchise Points board.

Expanding too early, however, is a bad idea, as it will also increase one's overhead costs. Since buying these expansions is expensive, it's best to hold off until players get through the first week or two of the game and have made some nice profits for themselves.
